Day 5 started dry,but our Forcast gave rain and strong winds so we changed plan slightly and headed to the Rappa valley area
We took our time breaking camp and packed away in the dry, which is always nice
Alpinelites excellent ultralight gaiters and my selection of pegs for this trip
Looking back to where we had camped the night before …temps today between 6c and 8c
Bierikbákte 1789m looking imposing with the low clouds
We were making our way along a narrow game trail with the wind behind us when we met this guy coming towards us

In places our route was a little vague in places !
Not long after this we stopped for lunch as the rain set in hard for most of the afternoon,so not so many pics but it was a nice section
It was along the section past Snávvávágge we bumped into a young couple coming the other way,the French lad told me they had been in cloud in the Rappa valley for 4 days, this had been his 4th trip to the are and he still not seen the Rappa valley
It was late in the afternoon and we were unsure if we would find any camping,if we dropped into the valley so as the clag thickened again we scouted around for a camp spot….then norm routine water, get changed into warm gear and get a cuppa soup on .
We were really lucky as around 7 ish the clag and wet stopped and we got our first views into the mighty Rappa valley, there was a higher lump above us so we climbed that for a better view
Think this peak was Soabbetjåhkkå and we though we could see a figure on the summit ,but couldn’t be sure
We also decided this was a moose in the river below, but it was 30 times zoom on an iPhone ?
Then it was back to shelters for some rest and too look and my elephant leg rash ,that I had developed on this trip
Thanks for looking, sorry for the long delay …..Safe travels Peter
