A Return trip to the Mamores for some Easter fun with my brother Jamie,last time i was on Am Bodach was 23rd Sept 2013 when it was my last Munro top on my Munro round,the Eastern two I last summited 30 yrs ago !  We drove up Wednesday afternoon and stayed the night in the Onich hotel (road was a bit noisy but nice stop over and great,help yourself breakfast at a good price).We soon drove up too Kinlochleven and got sorted and set off under grey skies 8c We followed the tracks up past the falls,with views back to the loch and village,the old Mamores lodge looked impressive but I believe has stood empty now for quite a while  As we gained height we also caught the strengthening wind 💨,the ground was soaked,water running on the good tracks.But path soon had us up-to Coire an Lochain ,where we had a quick snack as the rain came on us 4c wind 20-25 mph Sure Eilde Mor  Packs stashed we left them behind to climb Sgùrr Eilde Mòr as the rain turned to heavy sleet,then snow as we ...

So last wknd I received a message from my friend Dan Clout,who had found and bought a Trailstar and Oookworks inner from a guy in Norway and did I want to buy the inner  I’ve wanted a full walled inner for some time,I begged and after a year or 2 Ron did make me an Mld inner with Cuben floor and 15 “ of wall on the sides,but like many others I wanted a walled one,more so for winter So I snapped his hand off, it arrived today and I had it pitched and fit in the afternoon,it’s a real shame the way things went with Sean who set up Oookworks as his stuff is so well made…..quite why the new owner is not interested in making or selling them,after buying it off Sean..will remain one of life’s mysteries ?  Pitched at my standard pitch height of 52” it fits very well indeed  So slightly bigger but solid walls on 3 sides but a weight penalty over my Cuben Mld one,but I’m keeping it 😀
