Kidsty pike and a sharp return to winter,April 2016

A quick overnighter had me leaving Troutbeck at 10 am and a walk up Garburn pass, along the Kentmere round peaks then over to High street and a camp on Kidsty pike summit, returning the same way on the Sunday

It was a lovely morning 8-14c and the fells looked lovely

Have been trying these from bars have to say tasty and seem pack some energy for such a small bar

The new colour Trailstar is very inviting

Tonights tea was another Bla Bland one bought from Base camp foods, this one is Wilderness Stew

After a nice brew and taking in the view i awaited Lees arrival,as he was coming up later,he arrived around 6-30 and brought the first flecks of snow with him

In the space of the next 2 1/2 hrs the snow came down very thickly, but 2 ! changes in wind direction, had me having to move the door of the TS twice,by 11 a good 3" had fallen

This was tea,i think i put a little to much water in and even so it tasted really really good, will be ordering more of this flavour too.Good taste plenty of meat and rehydrated really well and this opening along the long side is so much better than all the other meal packages

Dawn brought a suprise cold of -4.3c a good test of my 0c Summerlite bag

But ohh what a stunning morning

                                    Sadly cloud obscured the sunrise

Sadly this valley may be the resting place of our last Golden eagle, who has been on his own the last 5 + years

By Dinnertime i was back on my way back down garburn pass and a lovely warm early afternoon it was too

Heres a video i did of the walk, thanks for watching
