Wanderings up North

For this trip i traveled up through the heart of the Lakes to start from Braithwaite,a drive up early doors was a joy and i was there in  just over an hour. Lee soon arrived and we were off,the first peak was to be Hobcarton End a Birkett we both needed, so we wondered through the forest in a weaving line till we could head upwards The day was dry with high cloud and only a little wind at first,we followed the ridges round and onto Hopegill Head The original idea had been to carry on over towards Robinson,but it looked like we would get a great sunrise and neither of us had camped on the summit of Grasmoor,so we changed tack  We pitched up around 4 ish and it was a cracking evening and nice sunset too Tea was my last one,from my last bulk buy and was very tasty,ive had 4 of these now  As Tucas quilt in prime position for tonights sleep ...

So as sometimes is the way of these things Plan A got changed to plan B which then 30 mins after setting off was changed again ! due to the strong constant winds that we had on Saturday, plan C it was then   Even though the Scotland trip had fallen through ive always loved the view i get as you descend of the Birker fell road and drop down onto the Stunning Eskdale side of this big moor  We met up on the side of Wastwater and the whole loch was a mass of "White horses"...it was a windy day already.So much so we ended up camped between Seatallan and Haycock,behind a small outcrop we discovered  Plan B was a two night trip going up to Haycock round to Red pike then down and over the Screes to return to the cars,parked on Wastwater Even after we had climbed only a little hieght the wind was showing itself that it was going to be a struggle today,the gusts were not huge,maybe 50's ,but the constants were 25-35 mph We chatted as we headed u...
