A trip to the Eastern fells

 So we finally managed to get Matt to find some time off that tied with a wknd ..a few brief messages and we agreed to do a trip based on ticking a few off Matts Wainwrights and to give us a chance to hear the stags,at rutt A shot of the night sky on Saturday nite          Lovely lakeland walls Matt and Lee at camp  Left to right Cuben Liar   Cuben Duomid  and Colin Tramplites shelter  It was windy on the summit of Tarn crag but a few minutes from the summit got us out of the wind,it dropped later allowing us to hear the stags that were in full rutt....a great sound to hear from any wild camp Always great to get that first morning brew on Longsledale

A dogs life following my friend on his wild camps

Pertex & pile bed 367g   So ive had a quite alot of questions over last few years about what i take for the dog,so thought id do a blog on what i take for my trusted side kick "Oscar the mountain dog "    So this is the bed he uses for 8-9 mths of the year,in summer he just sleeps on the brown rug,shown further down.Its a piece i cut out of an old army sentry style sleeping Just a cheap travel style towel 67g         Oscar sleeps on this in summer and i throw it over the top of him (where it doesn't always stay) from when the temp gets too 8c ish and down to -2c or so Cheap brown rug 191g  Woooftub with 6" walls,Silnylon  133g   So i asked Sean to make this for me it fits perfectly in one quarter of the Duomid and anywhere under the Trailstar,helps keep it all together and keeps a bit of draught off  This is his winter matt 8mm reflective foam matt weight 214g  This is a

Custom inner

So after getting my s/h Cuben Duomid and then a cheap Alliexpress inner,seperate post on here,i wondered about making an inner that suited my needs more..so once i had some figures in my head i decided to make a template/model that i could use to try and see how the fit would be in my Duomid,but with an eye to maybe being able to use it under the Trailstar too.. That done i exchanged a few emails with Sean about sizes and materials and costs ...this is the result  The fit was exactly as i wanted it and as always Seans stunning attention to detail, no wonky Bearpaw sew lines here Cuben used was .75 Oz    and 1.25 for the floor I asked for just 2 zips but Sean said a T zip would work better,i also asked for a 6" tub floor  I also bought a s/h porch tub off Lee Taylor this is also an older piece made by Sean I may shorten it yet but need to try it with Trailstar first,,if it fits as i hope under Trailstar ill add t
