Torver to Grey Friar along the tops,wild camp
This year i suffered with sciatica for the first time,along with a dire winter I've not been out much in last few months.But this wknd was to good to miss An early start saw the car tell me it was -2c on the drive up,it was 5c when i set off from Trover under a stunning blue sky As it turned out there was one thing i hadn't packed,expecting it to me much cooler on the tops .....my trusty Montane summer cap I soon topped out on the top of Walna scar track so popped over to the Walna scars small summit as i love the view It was only 9 am and was already 17c and no breeze,i was wishing i had a sun hat The Conistons looked fantastic under the blue skies,this from Dow crag A nice walk along the tops showed just how much snow had fallen the other week,lots of knee deep stuff about,it had been firm uphill 10 but after that was soft going Four o'clock saw me all pitched up it was a stunning evening,with a rea
