A rare meeting of three Mountain Laurel Designs,Cuben Duomids
I received a message from Darron Linney that he had an extra wknd free, a few messages exchanged and i did a route to try and collect some odd Wainwrights he still needed
We met up, along with Lee Taylor at Hartsop carpark..the forecast wasn't good but hills are there for all weathers
Sadly as we approached, end of the ridge and Beda fell,Oscar developed a very bad limp 😞 I offered to just return back towards the car myself as the route was meant to keep heading further north from here, but the other two and Max were happy to head back with us
The wind and rain had already started to strengthen so we picked a spot behind Sutara crags to hide us from the worse of the wind
It was pretty fresh as we pitched up but got worse as the evening moved on, we did get a dry lull around tea time so were able to sit out for 30 mins before retiring again
Darron did a little video, he put on twitter, showing the shelters getting hit by 50 mph winds, but we all agreed they got stronger as the night went on, luckily they died down not long after 11 pm
I had a new variety of tea tonight and it was very tasty indeed, will need to add a few more to my next bulk order of Basecamp foods
The next day couldn't be more different, with some nice skies and even some growing patches of blue
Oscar still had a limp in the mornings i decided id drop to the car and let the others make more of the day.A few minutes after we parted Oscar started doing donuts, spinning around on the spot and running all overawe caught the others up after 15 mins !
We spotted lots of deer around, who i guess had been hiding from the worse of the wind too
Max,s shelter that he has Daron carry for him
View from the Knott
It turned into a warm day so Oscar decided a siesta was needed
Heres a video i did of the trip, these are more for me then anything

Thanks for looking and safe travels Peter and Oscar
